2025 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge National Champions Crowned
Atlanta, Georgia – Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) has announced the winners of the 2025 Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge, held in Durham, North Carolina, in conjunction with Luftgekühlt 11.
Now in its fifth year, the competition drew a record-73 vehicles from Porsche centres across the United States, spanning three categories: Preservation (maintaining originality), Restoration (returning cars to original specification and condition), and Individualization (creative modifications).

Grand National & Individualization Champion
The top overall honour went to Porsche Bend for their 1973 Porsche 911T RSR Tribute build. Originally slated for the 2024 challenge, the team re-imagined the 911 into a wide-body tribute with steel RSR flares, a Viper Green finish, bespoke houndstooth interior tailoring, and a 2.8-litre engine built on a Classic “8R” case producing over 280 hp.

Restoration National Champion
In the Restoration category, Porsche North Houston took top honours for a 2004 Porsche 911 GT3. The project restored a Speed Yellow 996.2 GT3 to factory-fresh condition, addressing key mechanical components, refinishing trim and paint, and reviving the analog purity of the Mezger flat-six platform.

Preservation National Champion
The Preservation category winner is Gaudin Porsche of Las Vegas for their 1988 Porsche 944 Turbo S. Having sat untouched for nearly two decades, the car retained original components such as hood struts and wiper blades, and the restoration focused solely on mechanical rebirth—servicing, belts, coolant system and brakes—while preserving as much of the car’s untouched heritage as possible.

People’s Choice
Selected by the public, the People’s Choice award went to Harper Porsche for a 1992 Porsche 964 Carrera RS. This build pushed the boundaries of Porsche’s Sonderwunsch bespoke programme, featuring pearlescent color-shifting paint, Alcantara and green-accented stitching, custom gauges inspired by Porsche Design and Rolex, and an engine tuned to 394 hp with 343 lb-ft of torque.
Looking Ahead
America remains home to more classic Porsche vehicles than any other market. PCNA’s Restoration Challenge is supported by Porsche-trained technicians and access to nearly 85,000 Porsche Classic genuine parts, ensuring top-tier restoration and preservation work.
