Market Find: Singer 911 “HK2” – Early Classic Study with Factory Encore Coverage
Singer’s Classic Study remains one of the most sought-after reimaginations of the air-cooled 911, and with order books closed, early, well-documented builds have become increasingly difficult to source. This makes “HK2,” offered privately through RM Sotheby’s in partnership with Singer Vehicle Design, a notable opportunity: an early, low-mileage Classic Study with a factory-supported Encore warranty and a known original owner.
Completed in the summer of 2015, HK2 was the 14th Classic Study built and the second delivered to the Hong Kong market. Because Singer’s volume was still small at that time, founder Rob Dickinson was directly involved in the full commissioning process—from initial specification discussions to delivery. The car was built in right-hand-drive for its original owner in Hong Kong.

HK2 wears Dolphin Grey, a classic Porsche color, paired with ghosted stripes featuring blue lettering and matching blue-painted Fuchs-style wheels. Exposed fuel and oil filler caps, a grey ceramic-coated exhaust, and nickel-plated bumperettes add subtle functional and visual touches without overwhelming the design.
Inside, the car carries a full blue leather and carpet treatment, complemented by Recaro sport seats with black-painted backs. A Becker radio provides a period-correct look with modern usability. A leather-wrapped roll cage and Singer’s typically clean cabin layout complete the interior.

Mechanical options include Öhlins adjustable suspension and a five-speed manual gearbox. The car was originally fitted with Singer’s 3.8-liter flat-six, but in 2019, following the owner’s move to the UK, the car was sent to Singer’s Los Angeles facility for a full upgrade to 4.0-liter specification. Singer also installed a revised exhaust to reduce cabin drone. Once in the UK, specialists at Tuthill optimized the suspension for local roads, and HK2 has since been maintained by Singer-approved partners and at Singer’s own UK facilities.
With fewer than 3,300 miles since its reimagining, HK2 shows light use and careful upkeep. Presented with a full Singer Vehicle Design warranty and prepared to the company’s Encore standards, it carries factory backing unusual for a pre-owned Classic Study. That assurance will matter to anyone who prefers the confidence of direct support rather than navigating independent maintenance alone.

As Classic Study production concludes, availability has tightened and values have remained steady for early cars with clear provenance. HK2 checks several important boxes: early build number, right-hand-drive, known commissioning owner, a later factory 4.0-liter upgrade, and ongoing Singer oversight.
At an asking price of £950,000 GBP, HK2 sits in line with current market expectations for low-mile, well-specified, factory-supported examples. For collectors seeking an early Classic Study with documented history—or drivers who simply want a properly sorted, warrantied Singer ready for use—this car presents a straightforward, high-quality option in a segment where supply is increasingly limited.
