A 964-generation Porsche 911 Carrera 2 is already a desirable place to start, but this 1992 US-spec example finished in Signal Green stands out for reasons that go beyond condition or mileage. The color alone places it firmly in very rare-air territory, even within a generation known for special hues.

Signal Green is exceptionally uncommon on the 964, particularly on US-market Carrera 2 coupes. While Porsche offered no shortage of bold colors in the early 1990s, very few buyers selected Signal Green, making surviving examples scarce today. Its rarity is compounded by the fact that this is a standard U.S. delivery car rather than a later repaint or market-specific oddity.

Mechanically, this Carrera 2 has been developed as a driver. The original 3.6-liter flat-six has been enlarged to 3.8 liters and is managed by a MoTeC ECU. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. Suspension has been upgraded with adjustable Bilstein coilovers and an H&R sway bar, while color-matched Recaro Pole Positions (aftermarket versions from the looks of it), a roll bar, and Cup wheels reinforce the car’s functional focus.

With approximately 155,000 miles, this is not a low-mile preservation piece, but that’s also worth noting as a plus. The car has been used, maintained, and modified with intent rather than left static in someone’s large collection, which may appeal to buyers who value engagement over originality – there to be driven without no sense of guilt because a 155,000 mile 964 is effectively the same as a 255,000 mile 964 if the condition remains like this one. Recent service includes fluid changes, injector cleaning, new tires, and an air-conditioning recharge, suggesting continued road use rather than storage.

As a whole, this Signal Green Carrera 2 occupies an interesting space in today’s market. It combines one of the most engaging rear-drive air-cooled chassis with a color that is not only visually distinctive, but historically and statistically rare — especially in U.S. specification.
