Land Rover Classic Expanded Defender V8 Bespoke Programme with Defender OCTA Colours and Trims

Land Rover Classic has expanded its Works Bespoke programme to allow customers commissioning a Classic Defender V8 to specify the same exterior colours and interior trims offered on the modern Defender OCTA. The update applied across Classic Defender V8 builds in 90 Station Wagon, 110 Station Wagon, and 90 Soft Top body styles.

Five new exterior colours were added to the Classic Defender V8 palette as part of the update: OCTA-exclusive Petra Copper, Faroe Green, and Sargasso Blue, along with Narvik Black—borrowed from Defender OCTA Black—and Patagonia White. These join existing Classic Defender V8 finishes including Borasco Grey, Carpathian Grey, and Charente Grey. Each vehicle undergoes approximately 300 hours of paint preparation and finishing, with all colours available in either gloss or a specially developed satin finish designed to replicate the appearance of Defender OCTA’s optional Matte Protective Film.

Interior customisation was also broadened for the first time to mirror Defender OCTA specifications. New trim options included lightweight Ultrafabrics™ PU in Khaki Green, Light Cloud, and Lunar, as well as Burnt Sienna semi-aniline leather. Ebony leather was added to match the OCTA Black specification. Clients were able to work directly with Land Rover Classic’s design team to replicate colour placement across the steering wheel, transmission levers, dashboard, headlining, and door trims, with optional hand-trimmed heated Recaro sports seats available.

Several new exterior details were introduced exclusively for the Classic Defender V8 alongside the colour expansion. These included a gloss black radiator grille inspired by Defender OCTA, designed to maximise open area for cooling, and optional chopped carbon fibre bonnet script.

Matching a Classic Defender V8 to a Defender OCTA did not require ownership of the modern vehicle. Through the Works Bespoke programme, each Classic Defender V8 was built to order using a donor vehicle from the 2012–2016 production period. Each example was fully restored and re-engineered, retaining the 405 PS 5.0-litre naturally aspirated V8 paired with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission featuring a sport mode.

All builds received a revised suspension setup with bespoke springs, dampers, and anti-roll bars, along with recalibrated steering and uprated braking hardware using 335 mm front and 300 mm rear discs with four-piston calipers. Optional equipment included infotainment upgrades, a crystal lighting pack, and a selection of five wheel designs in 11 finishes, spanning 16-inch and 18-inch sizes, alongside adventure-focused accessories and further personalisation options.

Pricing for the Classic Defender V8 programme started at £190,000 before local taxes, with each vehicle supplied with a one-year, unlimited-mileage warranty.
