Here’s an interesting importable tailored ride that may be worth noting. In its C5 era, Audi brought both the A6 4.2 (sedan) and the S6 Avant to the USA so this isn’t entirely unobtainium… but it is rare and the likely paint color pushes it into impossible-to-find status.

What we have here is an A6 4.2 Avant a car that is functionally not much different from a like-era S6 Avant. The S6 would have gotten sport seats, a few more hp, a more sporting suspension and a different air dam, but otherwise the 4.2 had the wider aluminum fenders as the S and would hav been more lavishly optioned than most A6 models.

More importantly, this car appears to be Nogaro Blue. Since we don’t have access to the VIN we don’t know for sure, but 1999 was an era when Nogaro Blue was definitely Audi’s go-to bold blue. Sprint Blue hadn’t arrived as it eventually would in 2005 with the B6 S4 and thus came on a select few end-of-production C5 specials.

Nogaro itself is one of the most sought-after Audi colors. Whether this car were preserved as is or converted to more of an S or even RS spec doesn’t really matter. It’s a factory Nogaro Avant shell with the wider fenders of both S and RS, and its standard A6 nomenclature keeps the pricing extremely competitive at just € 4,690.

We’re not certain, but it’s likely that Nogaro Blue would have been a very special early Audi exclusive spec in 1999. Even in Europe, this car is a very rare configuration.
