Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Updated with New Tech, Expanded Personalization

Mercedes-Maybach has introduced a comprehensive update to the S-Class, bringing new digital systems, revised powertrains, and expanded customization options to its flagship sedan.

The update is the most extensive yet for the current generation and will be available to order in Europe starting March 25, 2026, with additional markets to follow.

A key change is the introduction of MB.OS, Mercedes-Benz’s new operating system, making its debut in a Maybach model. It works alongside the latest MBUX system and adds AI-driven functionality, over-the-air updates, and a redesigned interface tailored specifically for Maybach.

Powertrain updates focus on electrification across the range. Revised six- and eight-cylinder engines now incorporate mild-hybrid technology, while a plug-in hybrid variant offers approximately 100 km (62 miles) of electric range. In select markets, the V12 remains available.

Exterior updates are evolutionary. The Maybach grille is larger and can now be illuminated, with additional lighting elements added to the C-pillar emblem and hood ornament depending on market. New wheel designs and expanded MANUFAKTUR paint options further increase specification flexibility.

Inside, the focus remains on rear-seat comfort. Updates include revised materials, new wood trims, and an available leather-free interior option using textile-based finishes. Features such as automatic comfort doors, a refrigerated rear compartment, and dedicated champagne flute holders continue to define the car’s positioning.

The MBUX Superscreen is now standard, paired with updated ambient lighting and rear-seat displays. A new generation of driver assistance systems, supported by a more powerful computing architecture, expands automated driving and parking capabilities.

Production will continue at Mercedes-Benz’s Sindelfingen facility, with the updated model positioned as a core part of the brand’s top-end luxury strategy.

The changes focus less on redefining the S-Class formula and more on extending it—adding technology, efficiency, and personalization without altering the car’s established role as a comfort-first flagship.
