Occasionally when we run Audi exclusive cars past our sources, we get an “XXX” or unknown color code. This happens from time to time on special cars, or it could be because this car is Canadian. Whatever the reason, we were unable to confirm this one ourselves beyond what we can see or hear from the dealer. So, we’ll share what we know.
The Quebec dealer lists the car as “Porsche Green”. And, given Porsche has several colors not far from this shade (as does Audi exclusive) and the lighting in the photos isn’t doing us any favors, we’re not going to try to guess. It could be Signal Green or Viper Green from Porsche, or from Audi exclusive it could be the color known simply as Green. Or… it could be something else.
We did reach out to Amanda Christen, a prominent participant in the Audi exclusive Classifieds group on Facebook. She’s got a knack for finding these cars and identifying them as well and had suggested Signal Green. Alas, she was hitting the same walls, but a search on the same VIN previously had it listed as “Signal Green” which is a Porsche color. In as much, it’s a pretty safe bet this car is Signal Green.
Whatever it is, it’s a great-looking car. Yes, it’s in Canada but its age makes choosing to buy it easier than you think. Canadian imports of like-cars sold in the USA aren’t particularly hard to navigate beyond the uncomfortable subject of tariffs right now. Beyond that, 2019 makes it old enough to likely be off warranty and thus warranty concerns are irrelevant. Early B9 Audi models like this one, on the other hand, are new enough that a quick flip of a setting in the MMI system will move the car from metric to SAE spec.
There is another advantage to buying from Canada. Right now, the Canadian dollar is relatively weak against the US dollar which may help you manage the other time and effort getting the car here.
