Maturo 308 Stradale Expands on 80s Classic

Months ago, Dutch Delta Integrale remastering specialist Maturo Competition Cars had signaled they planned to expand their offerings to include the classic Ferrari 308 GTB a little over a year ago. Back then, the main focus was a Group 4 rally car, though this latest group of renderings suggests more of a Stradale (“street”) formula.

Both Stradale and earlier renderings of a rally car theme draw direct inspiration from the Michelotto-prepared Group 4 competition cars that campaigned in European rallying during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Maturo starts with an original donor Ferrari 308 before completely disassembling and reengineering the car. The company says the chassis receives more than 150 reinforcement welds as part of the transformation, along with widened rear bodywork formed by hand and an integrated roll cage intended to preserve the visual character of the original while substantially increasing rigidity.

At the center of the build is the Ferrari’s naturally aspirated 3.0-liter V8, though heavily revised from factory specification. Maturo fits upgraded camshafts, revised airflow systems and a custom Capristo exhaust, with output said to reach as much as 400 horsepower depending on specification. That figure nearly doubles the output of early fiberglass-bodied 308 Vetroresina road cars and dramatically alters the character of what was originally more grand tourer than outright performance machine.

Power is sent through a rebuilt gated manual transmission fitted with shorter ratios, reinforcing the analog focus of the package. The company has also leaned heavily into the rally concept with suspension developed alongside Tractive, the Dutch suspension manufacturer also known for its work with Porsche remaster specialist Kalmar Automotive. Electronically adjustable dampers allow the car to switch between more compliant touring settings and a sharper rally-inspired calibration.

The cabin follows the same philosophy. Original plastics have largely been replaced by carbon fiber, anodized aluminum, leather and Alcantara, while the dashboard and switchgear are completely redesigned. Though inspired by competition Ferraris of the period, the execution appears intentionally modern rather than strictly period-correct.

Pricing for the Maturo 308 Stradale starts at €425,000 before taxes and without the donor car included.
