Bentley Opens the Doors to Crewe with New Public Heritage Tours

For decades, a visit to Bentley’s headquarters in Crewe has largely been reserved for customers taking delivery of a new car or invited guests exploring the brand’s manufacturing operations. That is beginning to change.

Bentley Motors has announced that members of the public can now book guided tours of its visitor experience center, CW1 House, marking the first time enthusiasts can purchase access to a curated Bentley heritage experience at the company’s historic home in Crewe.

The new program centers around CW1 House, located adjacent to Bentley’s factory, where visitors can explore a rotating display of current production models alongside significant vehicles from the company’s heritage collection. Entry to the front-of-house area remains free, allowing guests to browse exhibits, sit inside modern Bentley models and visit the Bentley Boutique, which offers branded merchandise and accessories.

The biggest change is the introduction of bookable guided tours led by Bentley customer hosts. Available on selected weekdays, the experience begins with refreshments before guests are taken through the displays inside CW1 House and introduced to artifacts spanning more than a century of Bentley history. Historic race trophies and other memorabilia help tell the story of the marque’s success both on and off the track.

The tour then moves into Lineage, Bentley’s dedicated heritage exhibition space. Here visitors gain access to some of the most important vehicles in Bentley’s collection, including pre-war models that are rarely displayed publicly. Depending on the day, guests may encounter coachbuilt Mulliner creations, recent special editions and even examples from Bentley’s newest performance programs.

Among the highlights are historic racing Bentleys, including the famous Team Blower, one of the most recognizable cars from the brand’s early competition years. Digital exhibits and immersive displays guide visitors through Bentley’s journey from its founding in 1919 to its current position as one of the world’s leading luxury automotive manufacturers.

The opening of CW1 House to the public is part of a broader investment in Bentley’s Crewe campus. Returning visitors will notice extensive development around the factory, including newer facilities such as the company’s paintshop and The Mews, a private customer experience center.

While the main factory remains closed to general visitors for now, Bentley says additional access is planned as part of future phases of its visitor program.

Tours start at £20 per person, with groups limited to 12 guests. Participants also receive a 10 percent discount in the Bentley Boutique during their visit.

For enthusiasts looking for a closer connection to one of Britain’s most storied luxury marques, Crewe has become a destination worth adding to the itinerary.
