Not every interesting specification needs to come through Audi exclusive. Shiraz Red Metallic was right there on the regular 2015 A3 color chart, but more than a decade later it is a color we rarely see turn up on the used market.

Chestnut Brown leather works particularly well against Shiraz Red’s deep burgundy and plum tones, giving an otherwise relatively common A3 a specification that feels far more considered than its roughly $14,000 asking price would suggest. Shiraz Red has since had something of a second life within the Volkswagen Group. Porsche later added the Audi color to its Paint to Sample catalog, where it appears under code Y4S. Audi was doing Shiraz Red well before Porsche PTS buyers discovered it.
