Bentley GTC Qatar a Captivating One-Off by Mulliner
Bentley has revealed a one-of-one Bentley Continental GTC Azure Mulliner Qatar Edition, a bespoke commission created to reflect the color, light, and atmosphere of a Gulf sunset. Developed through Mulliner, the car applies regional inspiration through paint, materials, and detailing rather than structural changes or performance modifications.
The exterior is finished in a bespoke Mulliner colour known as Desert Sand, formulated specifically for this commission. The tone sits between warm gold and muted beige, designed to shift subtly under changing light conditions. In direct sunlight it presents a honeyed warmth, while at dusk it deepens, echoing the saturated tones common to desert skies at sunset. The colour was created exclusively for this car and is not part of Bentley’s standard or extended paint catalogue.

Inside, the Qatar Edition departs from Bentley’s traditional leather-only approach with the introduction of plaid cloth upholstery, paired with custom embroidery. The pattern is tapered and graduated to visually reference the sky as it lightens toward the horizon, creating a deliberate contrast between the darker lower cabin and brighter upper surfaces. The execution blends textile elements with Bentley’s established craftsmanship standards, integrating the cloth into the broader Azure interior specification rather than treating it as an accent alone.
The base vehicle is the Bentley Continental GTC Azure, already positioned as the most comfort-focused and indulgent version of Bentley’s open-top grand tourer. Features such as wellness-oriented seating, extensive sound insulation, and the multi-layer fabric roof remain unchanged, but the Qatar-specific detailing reframes the car around its intended environment.

Bentley’s description of the car highlights the contrast between daytime heat and evening conditions in the region. With temperatures easing after sunset, the GTC’s convertible configuration becomes central to the experience, allowing occupants to travel with the roof lowered as ambient air and fading light shape the drive. The bespoke specification reinforces that transition, aligning materials and colours with the time of day the car is intended to be enjoyed.
As a one-off Mulliner commission, the Continental GTC Azure Mulliner Qatar Edition serves as a localized expression of Bentley’s bespoke capabilities, demonstrating how regional cues—light, climate, and landscape—can be translated into colour formulation, material choice, and interior design without altering the core character of the car itself.
