Bentley Teases Return of an Iconic Name
Bentley is preparing to revive one of its most storied model names. While they haven’t confirmed just which name they’re launching, they did tease that its return comes nearly a century after it first appeared. The Crewe marque promises this upcoming release will be more than just a nod to history—it will be a rare, performance-oriented machine crafted to showcase the brand’s modern capabilities.
Will this be a special tailored model like the Batur, or perhaps a new extension of an existing product? The teaser images seem to reveal a Continental derived offering. In that vein, it’s worth noting that the Bentley Speed Six was launched in 1928, featuring an in-line six also boasting over six-liters of displacement. The brand’s last victorious Le Mans LMP1 racecar was known as the “Speed 8” for its V8 engine.

Could the new model be a hybridized version of the Porsche-developed Volkswagen Group 2.9-liter biturbo V6, perhaps with hybrid assist? That would mark a natural expansion of the Continental range given the V8 hybrid has now replaced the W12. Also, the Porsche Panamera (and MSB architecture sibling to the Continental) already offers such a drivetrain in the Panamera 4 E-hybrid.
But… that’s all just theory and guesswork.
Details remain under wraps for now, but Bentley has confirmed that the reveal is imminent. Expect another extraordinary creation to join the brand’s exclusive portfolio very soon.
