Bentley Unleashes the Most Driver-Focused Continental GT Ever: The New Supersports
Bentley has revived one of its most storied performance badges with the unveiling of the new Continental GT Supersports, the most driver-focused Bentley ever built and the first rear-wheel-drive Continental GT in the model’s history. Strictly limited to 500 individually numbered cars, the Supersports marks the 100th anniversary of the original 1925 “Super Sports” while signaling a bold new performance philosophy for the brand.
At the heart of the new Supersports is a strengthened, non-hybrid 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 delivering 666 PS and 800 Nm of torque. Paired with an uprated eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and powering only the rear wheels through an eLSD, the setup promises purist-focused engagement rather than headline-grabbing top speed. A full titanium Akrapovič exhaust adds character, while standard carbon-ceramic brakes and new 22-inch forged wheels developed with Manthey Racing underscore the car’s track-leaning intent. With available Pirelli Trofeo RS tires, the Supersports can generate up to 1.3g of lateral grip and deliver cornering performance roughly 30 percent stronger than a Continental GT Speed.

The weight savings are equally radical. The Supersports drops nearly half a tonne from the standard Continental GT to achieve a curb weight under 2,000 kilograms. The transformation is comprehensive: rear seats and sound insulation are removed, a carbon fiber roof lowers mass and center of gravity, and several driver assistance systems are deleted. Even the audio system is reconfigured exclusively for the front cabin. The result is the lightest Bentley in 85 years.
Aerodynamics play a major role in the Supersports’ character. The car receives the most aggressive exterior package ever fitted to a Bentley, defined by a massive new front splitter, stacked carbon fiber dive planes, extended side sills, B-shaped fender blades, a deep rear diffuser and a fixed one-piece rear wing. Each component serves to increase downforce while preserving high-speed stability. Combined, these elements generate over 300 kilograms more downforce than the Continental GT Speed.

Inside, the two-seat cabin continues the motorsport theme. New lightweight sports seats sit lower in the car and feature increased bolstering and carbon fiber structural elements. The deleted rear seating area is replaced by a sculpted carbon fiber tub wrapped in leather. The cabin blends leather, Dinamica and high-gloss carbon fiber, with tri-tone configurations offered for the first time in a Bentley. An individually numbered plaque on the center console marks each example.
The Supersports project, codenamed “Mildred,” began as an internal experiment in 2024, when engineers proposed a rear-drive, sub-two-tonne Continental GT as a thought exercise. A test mule arrived on track just six weeks later, convincing Bentley leadership to greenlight a full production model. The codename honors Mildred Mary Petre, a pioneering racer and pilot who set a 24-hour endurance record in a Bentley 4½ Litre at Montlhéry in 1929.

Bentley positions the Supersports as an evolution of a lineage that began in 1925 and reemerged with modern examples in 2009 and 2017. This fourth generation departs from its predecessors by focusing less on ultimate speed and more on visceral, responsive handling. Rear-wheel drive, extensive weight reduction and new chassis calibrations—along with Touring, Bentley and Sport drive modes—give drivers unprecedented control and engagement from a Continental GT.
Customization remains central to the Supersports experience. Customers can choose from 24 standard exterior colors, with additional Mulliner options including Supersports-specific striping and matte finishes. Five curated Design Themes are offered, such as “Nightfall,” which combines Anthracite gloss paint with Camel lower accents, and “Daybreak,” shown at the global debut in Jetstream Matte with Arctica and Portofino striping. Inside, buyers can tailor hides, accents and trim finishes, with carbon fiber, Diamond Brushed or Engine Turned aluminum, or Piano Black all available.

Orders for the new Supersports open in March 2026, with production beginning in late 2026 and first deliveries expected in early 2027. Availability spans the UK, Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and select Middle Eastern markets.
For Bentley, the Supersports is more than a performance flagship—it is a statement of future intent, one that embraces a more daring, distilled and driver-centric interpretation of luxury grand touring.
