
Callum Teases Aston Martin Vanquish Remastered with Shooting Brake Profile
Callum Designs has revealed early images of a Shooting Brake version of its Aston Martin Vanquish 25, teasing the design in the Portfolio section of the firm’s website. On social media, it teased by noting the lack of shooting brakes in Monterey while playfully suggesting this car could be next year’s newsmaker. The proposal hints at a more practical take on the reimagined Vanquish, which launched several years ago as a limited production restomod.

The Vanquish 25 is notable for being reinterpreted by the car’s original designer, Ian Callum, the former Jaguar and Aston Martin stylist who later founded his own independent design studio. Unlike most restomod projects, Callum’s version updates the first-generation Vanquish (produced in the early 2000s) with both mechanical and aesthetic upgrades, while retaining its original character.

Of course, Zagato previously took a stab at the same concept back in 2017 with a Vanquish S. However, whereas Zagato has its own design themes to convey, Callum comes at it from the unique position of continuity given it stems from the car’s original in-period design director.

Although the Shooting Brake is still just a CGI, it would likely share the same mechanicals as the Vanquish 25 coupé already offered from Callum since 2022. Each of the 25 coupés produced was powered by an augmented 5.9-litre V12 producing 580 bhp, paired with either a six-speed automated manual transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox alternative that was never offered in period though can now also be had refitted from Aston Martin’s factory in Gaydon.

The restomod package also introduced extensive upgrades: lightweight carbonfibre bodywork, carbon-ceramic brakes, revised suspension, modern lighting units, diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a bespoke interior with contemporary trim and materials. Together, these changes transformed the original Vanquish into a modernised grand tourer while maintaining its design heritage.
No pricing details for the potential Shooting Brake have been suggested. Given the extensive structural changes and bespoke elements such a different model would require, the cost is expected to be considerably more than the Vanquish 25 coupé.
