While Volkswagen has never really had a tailor service as we tend to think of them, the people’s car brand has been a longtime creator of unique and not-so-unique special editions. In the 90s, VW tended to love tie-ins, connected to brands with sports equipment as they did with the Jetta Trek and Golf K2, or in Europe where they paired up with iconic bands… like Genesis.

Perhaps the most standout of the Genesis Cabriolet is the paint – Volkswagen’s Violet Touch Pearl. That was matched with special interior trim including purple trim on the steering wheel. It also got the gratuitous stickers that seemed to be a telltale of most 90s specials from VW.
This one appears to be a driver that presents well – not a museum piece, but a truly unique summer cruiser that’s old enough for easy import.
