Gunther Werks Drops 1,000-HP Project F-26 at Monterey
Monterey, Calif. — Gunther Werks has unveiled its latest creation at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering: Project F-26, a 1,000-horsepower tribute to the iconic Porsche Slantnose. Named for its fighter jet–like profile and limited run of 26 units, the F-26 represents the company’s most ambitious build to date, combining classic Porsche cues with advanced carbon-fiber construction and next-level performance.

Visually, the F-26 recalls the Porsche 935 and road-going Slantnose with a dramatic reinterpretation of the front end. The handcrafted carbon-fiber body features fixed headlights, a high-downforce rear wing, reworked side intakes, and squared-off rear fenders. The lightweight design results in a curb weight of just 2,700 pounds, setting the stage for extreme performance.

At its heart lies a twin-turbocharged, air-cooled 4.0-liter flat-six co-developed with Rothsport Racing, producing 1,000 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the engine is supported by advanced cooling solutions including a race-inspired flat fan, redesigned intercooler system, and carbon-fiber charge pipes. Running on ethanol with adaptive mapping for gasoline, the powerplant is finished with a custom 935-style exhaust that delivers a distinctive note.

Underneath, the F-26 employs a new double-wishbone front suspension, adaptive JRZ dampers, motorsport-grade ABS, and extended rear wheelbase for sharper handling. Inside, exposed carbon fiber meets bespoke leather and Alcantara, while details such as a fighter jet–inspired steering wheel, wooden shift knob, and Porsche Classic radio with Apple CarPlay fuse heritage with modern technology. Production will be limited to 26 bespoke builds, each aimed at drivers seeking an analog yet thoroughly modern performance experience.
