Honda NSX Tribute by Italdesign Begins Global Tour Toward Milan Design Week
Italdesign has released the first preview images of its Honda NSX Tribute, a one-off concept created as a design homage to the original first-generation NSX. The car will be shown publicly as part of a structured tour program that links its Japanese appearances with an eventual European showcase at Milan Design Week 2026.
The project comes from Italdesign and is officially endorsed by Honda. According to the company, the tribute is intended as a contemporary reinterpretation of the 1990s NSX, developed with reference to the engineering philosophy of the original model and presented as a design study that may evolve into a limited few-off program.
In profile, the car maintains the low nose, mid-engine stance and cab-forward greenhouse associated with the early NSX. The beltline remains relatively straight, and the roofline flows into a compact rear deck. Compared with the production model of the 1990s, the body surfacing appears more angular, with sharper transitions between panels and more defined aerodynamic channels.
The front end replaces the original car’s pop-up headlamps with slim LED lighting units integrated beneath a pronounced upper edge. A wide central intake spans the lower fascia, while secondary openings at the corners suggest additional cooling and airflow management.
At the rear, the tribute features a full-width light element and a dark horizontal panel recalling the original NSX’s tail graphic. Below, a deep lower section incorporates a visible diffuser and large outlets for airflow. The rear deck and buttress areas appear sculpted to guide air toward the back of the car.
Interior images released so far show a driver-focused layout with a low dashboard and a digital instrument display set within a hooded cluster. Exposed structural elements and minimal trim suggest an emphasis on lightweight construction and mechanical clarity over luxury-oriented detailing.
The tour schedule outlined by Italdesign begins with appearances in Japan following the car’s debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon. The NSX Tribute is confirmed for the Osaka Auto Messe at INTEX Osaka from February 13–15, 2026, and for the Automobile Council at Makuhari Messe in Chiba from April 10–12, 2026. After these Japanese events, the car will travel to Italy for Milan Design Week, where it will be displayed during the Fuorisalone from April 20–26, 2026, at Opificio 31 on Via Tortona as part of a dedicated Italdesign exhibition space.

Italdesign positions the tour as an integral part of the project, linking the NSX’s Japanese heritage with the company’s Italian design base. Additional technical details are expected to be released as the car continues its appearances on the road to Milan. Press Release NSX Tribute by It…
Italdesign has released the first preview images of its Honda NSX Tribute, a one-off concept created as a design homage to the original first-generation NSX. The car will be shown publicly as part of an upcoming international tour, with additional technical details expected to follow at later stops.
The project comes from Italdesign, the Turin-based design and engineering firm known for limited-production specials and concept vehicles. The NSX Tribute revisits the proportions and visual themes of the original NSX developed by Honda, while applying contemporary surfacing, lighting and aerodynamic treatment.
In profile, the car maintains the low nose, mid-engine stance and cab-forward greenhouse associated with the early NSX. The beltline remains relatively straight, and the roofline flows cleanly into the rear deck. Compared with the 1990s production model, the surfaces appear more angular and tightly defined, with sharper transitions between body planes.
The front end replaces the original car’s pop-up headlamps with slim LED lighting units integrated beneath a pronounced upper edge. A wide central intake spans much of the lower fascia, visually emphasizing the car’s width. Secondary openings at the outer corners suggest additional cooling and aerodynamic management.
At the rear, the tribute features a full-width light element and a broad blacked-out panel recalling the original NSX’s tail treatment. Below, a deep lower section incorporates a visible diffuser structure and large outlets for airflow. The rear deck and buttress areas appear sculpted to guide air toward the back of the car.
Interior images released so far indicate a driver-focused layout with a low dashboard and a digital instrument display housed within a hooded cluster. The cabin combines exposed structural elements with minimal trim, suggesting a focus on weight reduction and mechanical visibility rather than luxury-oriented detailing.
Italdesign has not yet confirmed the full technical specification or production plans. Based on the information available, the NSX Tribute is presented as a design study rather than a series-production vehicle, intended to reference the engineering and layout principles of the original NSX while showcasing Italdesign’s current design approach. Further details are expected as the car appears at additional tour venues.
