JAS Motorsport and Pininfarina Reimagine the Iconic NSX for a New Era

Arluno & Turin – The spirit of the original Honda NSX is set for a remarkable revival, as JAS Motorsport and Pininfarina announce the first details of a new ultra-limited high-performance road car inspired by the 1990-generation icon.

Developed from an original NSX chassis, this collaboration marks JAS Motorsport’s first foray into producing a road-going performance car. The project aims to reinterpret the Grand Touring essence that defined the original NSX—balancing performance, precision, and usability both on road and track—through modern engineering and design.

The car, styled by Pininfarina, will feature a completely carbon-fibre body and a reimagined interior that blends the elegance and ergonomic focus of the first-generation NSX with contemporary materials and craftsmanship. Production will take place at JAS Motorsport’s Atelier in Arluno, near Milan, with availability in both left- and right-hand drive.

Each build will begin with a donor NSX from the early 1990s, chosen for its foundational chassis and mechanical architecture. From there, JAS will integrate refined mechanical components drawn directly from its motorsport programs—programs that have yielded over 900 race victories and multiple world championships.

Under the rear deck will sit a naturally aspirated, NSX-inspired V6 engine, engineered and developed by JAS Motorsport for exceptional power, torque, and responsiveness. It will be paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission to preserve driver engagement and analog performance.

Inside, Pininfarina has carried forward the original NSX’s design philosophy of purity and connection. The cockpit’s layout remains focused on the driver, while the materials and aesthetic execution evoke a blend of modern minimalism and motorsport precision. As Honda’s original manifesto declared in 1990, “A car functions through a direct connection with the driver and passenger. Its quality is determined by whether or not it inspires enthusiasm in the driver.”

Details including the car’s official name and production numbers will be revealed in the coming months, ahead of its world premiere scheduled for the first half of 2026.

With its blend of Italian design and motorsport engineering, this NSX revival signals a return to the kind of driver-focused performance car that defined an era—and could redefine it once more.
