If you’re in the market for the most exciting 996 you can find, this ain’t it. But what it does offer, is a relatively inexpensive path into PTS 911 ownership in a very distinct color with shockingly low miles. Porsche’s Paint to Sample Wimbledon Green Metallic found its footing in the early 90’s on 993, 928, and 968 models, and to some, it immediately made a splash. But the 90s ended all too abruptly with the death of aircooled 911 models and the intro of a much maligned 996 generation. So here we find an arguably best of ‘normal’ breed 996- the C4S- in a genuinely cool color, hampered only by the fact it has two pedals instead of three, for the reasonable sum of $45k. Glass half full crowd- here’s your car.

Okay, Midnight Blue Metallic may be a standard issue Porsche 968 color and thus paint to sample wasn’t doable for Todd Blue and his LAPIS collection, but when you’re talking about an example of a model where Porsche only ever built thirteen, that he managed to stick with his blue theme at all is remarkably impressive. Even more impressive for those in the market is the fact that the car is about to go up for sale as part of RM Sotheby’s Miami Auction that is part of the Moda Miami event weekend.
