Singer Vehicle Design and RM Sotheby’s have announced that the very first Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) car, known as EP1, will be offered through sealed bid. First unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2018, EP1 marked the debut of Singer’s most advanced restoration services, developed in collaboration with legends Norbert Singer and Hans Mezger, as well as Williams Advanced Engineering.

Founded in 2009 by Rob Dickinson, Singer became known for Porsche 964-based “Classic” restorations, but the DLS program took the firm further, with a mission to create “the most advanced air-cooled 911 in the world.” The project’s technical centerpiece was a 500-horsepower, four-liter flat-six featuring four-valve heads, titanium valves, magnesium components, and a titanium/Inconel exhaust. “This has been a fantastic opportunity to showcase the core capabilities of Williams Advanced Engineering,” said Williams technical director Paul McNamara, citing Mezger’s input into the program.

EP1 debuted in Parallax White with Ghosted Light stripes and Norfolk Yellow lettering, featuring carbon fiber bodywork refined by computational fluid dynamics, magnesium wheels, Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, and a bespoke interior with carbon fiber and Norfolk Yellow leather. A sister car, finished in Heart Attack Red, ran the Goodwood hillclimb, its 9,300 rpm engine note likened to Formula One race cars.

Singer refreshed EP1 in 2023 and serviced it again this year at its UK facility. The car will be sold with a twelve-month warranty, a Track 1 – DLS Edition watch color-matched to EP1, bespoke luggage in its color scheme, and two sets of magnesium wheels—one polished, one Norfolk Yellow.

The DLS EP1 is widely seen as a pivotal moment in Singer’s history, when its signature Porsche craftsmanship was first combined with cutting-edge motorsport engineering. Offered via Sealed, the car presents collectors with a rare chance to acquire the machine that launched Singer’s most ambitious program.
