Maserati and Alfa Romeo Join Forces with the Carabinieri for Life-Saving Missions

ROME, October 27, 2025 — In a striking union of speed, precision, and purpose, the Italian Carabinieri have officially added two high-performance icons to their fleet: the Maserati MC20 Cielo in institutional livery—named MCPURA for its special mission role—and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. Both vehicles will be used for urgent medical transportation of organs and blood, ensuring rapid response in life-saving missions across Italy.

A Ceremony of Craft and Purpose
The presentation took place at the General Command of the Carabinieri in Rome, attended by General Commander Gen. C.A. Salvatore Luongo and senior leadership of the Corps, alongside Stellantis executives including CEO Antonio Filosa, Head of Enlarged Europe Emanuele Cappellano, Maserati COO and Alfa Romeo Brand Manager Santo Ficili, and Stellantis Italy Managing Director Antonella Bruno.

Both vehicles were designed and equipped specifically for medical transport, combining advanced performance engineering with dedicated life-support storage systems to guarantee safety and reliability in critical conditions.

Engineering Excellence with a Mission
The Maserati MCPURA, designed by the Maserati Centro Stile and built in Modena, is powered by the marque’s 630-horsepower twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine. Featuring a carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and pre-chamber combustion technology derived from Formula 1, the MCPURA delivers precision, stability, and responsiveness — essential for rapid intervention duties.

Joining it is the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, built in Cassino and powered by a 520-horsepower twin-turbo V6 engine paired with rear-wheel drive and a mechanical self-locking differential. With its sport suspension and specialized operational equipment, the Quadrifoglio continues a proud tradition of Alfa Romeos serving Italy’s national police forces — a lineage stretching back to the post-war 1900 M “Matta” and the 1960s Giulia “Gazzella.”

A Partnership Rooted in Heritage and Innovation
This initiative marks the first time a Maserati has entered Carabinieri service and continues a legacy of cooperation between Stellantis brands and Italy’s national law enforcement. The partnership symbolizes the alignment between Italian design excellence and public service, leveraging technology and craftsmanship to fulfill humanitarian missions.

General Commander Gen. C.A. Salvatore Luongo emphasized that the collaboration “represents not only an alliance between Italian automotive excellence and institutional operational efficiency, but a true alignment of purpose in service of the community. The operational reliability of these vehicles is a vital tool for saving lives — the highest mission an institution can pursue.”

Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa added, “We are proud to provide the Carabinieri with two vehicles that represent the best of Italian technology and design. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and Maserati MCPURA are not only symbols of performance and style, but tools to ensure speed and safety in missions of vital importance.”

Italian Performance in Service of Humanity
This new delivery reinforces the long-standing partnership between Stellantis and the Carabinieri Corps, uniting heritage and innovation in the name of public service. Whether on the open road or in the heart of Italy’s cities, these two vehicles stand as a reminder that true performance is measured not only in speed, but in service to life itself.
