Mercedes-AMG has confirmed two new high-performance models—the next-generation GT3 race car and a new GT Black Series—both derived from the same development platform.
The program is based on the CONCEPT AMG GT Track Sport, which AMG now describes as a functional technology demonstrator rather than a standalone show car. The concept underpins both the customer racing GT3 successor and the road-legal Black Series, linking the two more closely than previous AMG programs.

The Black Series will serve as the homologation model for the GT3, continuing AMG’s established approach of aligning its most extreme road cars with its racing efforts. AMG says the new version will be the most radical Black Series to date.
Development is already underway. Prototypes have been undergoing testing since late 2025 at multiple circuits including Immendingen, Bilster Berg, Portimão, Monteblanco, and now the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The GT3 represents the next step in AMG’s customer racing program, which dates back to the SLS AMG GT3 in 2011 and continued with the current AMG GT3 introduced in 2016 and updated in 2020. A new subsidiary, Affalterbach Racing GmbH, has been established to support development alongside AMG Motorsport.
On the road side, the Black Series continues AMG’s tradition of track-focused halo models, a lineage that began with the SLK 55 AMG Black Series in 2006. The new model is positioned as a direct expression of AMG’s motorsport roots, with a focus on performance, durability, and track capability.
AMG has not released technical specifications or timelines for either model, but both are expected to play central roles in the brand’s future performance strategy—one on track, the other on the road, sharing a common development philosophy.
