Meyers Manx and Tuthill Debut LFG Adventure Vehicle at The Quail

Monterey, Calif. — At The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, Meyers Manx — creator of the original fiberglass dune buggy — joined forces with rally specialists Tuthill to debut the LFG, a limited-production off-road performance vehicle. Billed as a reinvention of the carefree buggy spirit, the LFG blends high-performance engineering with a sense of adventure, offering more than just a vehicle: a gateway to experiences.

Production will be capped at 100 units worldwide, each paired with six years of exclusive driving adventures hosted across the globe. The program begins in 2027 with the LFG Baja Tour, celebrating 50 years since Meyers Manx’s historic win in the inaugural Mexican 1000, now known as the Baja 1000. Owners will not just buy a car, but entry into a curated journey of exploration and camaraderie.

Built with both capability and comfort in mind, the LFG employs a carbon fiber body with integrated Roll Over Protection Structure. Power comes from a choice of high-performance engines, including a 4-valve variant of Tuthill’s “K” unit, mated to a six-speed sequential gearbox. The drivetrain features four-wheel drive and limited-slip differentials at the front, center, and rear, underscoring the machine’s rally-bred pedigree.

Handling is managed by twin five-way adjustable dampers with hydraulic bump stops, paired with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires for versatility across sand, rock, and gravel. The LFG’s enclosed cockpit is climate-controlled for endurance comfort but can quickly transform into an open-air buggy. Long-range fuel capacity, integrated GPS, and a lightweight Inconel exhaust round out a package aimed at long-haul capability.

“This project started as a dream,” said Phillip Sarofim, Chairman of Meyers Manx. “We imagined the perfect Meyers Manx, merged design brilliance with Tuthill’s engineering mastery, and the result is raw, visceral, and uncompromising. We call it LFG for a reason.” Richard Tuthill echoed the sentiment, calling the LFG a vehicle built not just for performance, but for life-changing experiences: “Could we go to the moon and back in it? Probably yes. More importantly, we’ll go anywhere in the world safely, comfortably, and with a smile.”

With its mix of exclusivity, engineering rigor, and adventurous spirit, the LFG positions itself as more than another special-edition off-roader. It aims to be a catalyst for shared journeys, blending the rebellious charm of the original Meyers Manx with modern rally capability. Deliveries and owner adventures will commence in 2027, with all 100 vehicles expected to sell quickly to collectors and enthusiasts drawn to its promise of freedom on four wheels.
