Range Rover SV Black Debuted at Design Miami with All-Black Specification
Range Rover presented the SV Black in North America earlier this month at Design Miami, using the design fair as the setting for the model’s regional debut. The SV Black joins the top tier of the Range Rover SV lineup and is defined by a comprehensive, factory-executed all-black specification that extends across the exterior, interior, and key hardware details.
Externally, the Range Rover SV Black featured a Gloss Black mesh grille paired with matching Gloss Black bonnet lettering and grille oval. The monochromatic theme continued in profile with 23-inch alloy wheels finished in Gloss Black, complemented by Gloss Black brake calipers carrying darker, subdued branding—a first for the model. At the rear, a black ceramic SV roundel replaced the standard badge treatment, subtly distinguishing the vehicle as part of the SV portfolio.

Inside, the cabin specification focused on dark, tactile materials rather than contrast. Near-Aniline Ebony leather was used extensively, with graduated rectangle perforations and a unique stitching pattern across the seats. For the first time, single-panel seat covers were employed, reducing visible seams for a cleaner finish. Black birch veneers were specified for the interior trim, while the gear selector was finished in satin black ceramic. Moonlight Chrome detailing appeared throughout the cabin, extending to more interior elements than previous SV models.
The SV Black also debuted Range Rover’s latest iteration of its audio-driven wellness technology. Rear Body and Soul Seats were fitted as standard, joined by a new Sensory Floor system that introduced haptic feedback through the floor mats in addition to the seats. The system allowed occupants to physically feel audio vibrations through multiple contact points, expanding the existing BASS technology beyond the seating surfaces alone. Sensory Floor is exclusive to Range Rover SV models and was standard on the SV Black shown in Miami.

The vehicle was displayed as part of Range Rover’s “Dipped in Black” installation at Design Miami, housed within a space inspired by modernist architecture. While the installation incorporated curated design objects, a bespoke soundscape, and a custom scent, the focus of the debut remained on the SV Black itself and its tightly controlled specification.
As presented, the Range Rover SV Black emphasized material execution and finish rather than visual contrast, delivering one of the most comprehensive monochromatic factory specifications yet offered by the brand’s Special Vehicle Operations division.
