Celebrating the arrival of its updated 1,025 hp quad motor R1S (now known as R1S Quad), Rivian has paired with Hagerty’s Broad Arrow auction house to offer up a one-off special build. Effectively, this R1S is a special edition made specifically for Monterey Car Week.

What makes it special? First off, the exterior hue is one-off Monterey Silver metallic. Silver is a subtle choice for a one-off color, and this one is described as being inspired by the “soft, golden morning light over Monterey Bay”. It also features painted cladding accented tastefully with bronze accents, brake calipers painted Laguna Beach Blue and custom forged 22-inch wheels boasting a three-tone finish.

That’s paired with an interior of Pebble Beach Stone Advantex with a host of other coastal-inspired details unique to this car. These include woven granite-inspired textiles, unique wood accents and and stainless steel speaker grills with gradient finish “inspired by Big Sur sunsets”.

Rivian got into the special edition game last year with its California Dune special edition. This year, it’s got a one-off set to drop with Broad Arrow at Pebble Beach. It does make you wonder if Rivian plans to get in on the in-house tailoring game just like so many other premium automotive manufacturers.
