Rolls-Royce Details a Landmark Year for Bespoke Commissions in 2025

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has outlined 2025 as one of the most significant years in the modern history of its Bespoke program, marked by increased commissioning activity, expanded global reach, and a notable rise in technical and material complexity across its product range.

According to the marque, client demand for highly individualized motor cars continued to grow throughout the year, with commissions increasingly shaped by personal history, cultural references, and contemporary interests. These themes were expressed across 5,664 Bespoke motor cars delivered globally in 2025, spanning multiple model lines and markets.

A key driver behind this growth has been the rollout of Rolls-Royce’s global Private Office network. With locations now operating in Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai, New York, and at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, the company reported that commissions originating from these Private Offices more than doubled year-on-year. The Private Office model allows clients to work directly with Rolls-Royce designers and craftspeople, often resulting in projects that introduce new techniques or materials into production.

Several craft disciplines were expanded in 2025, including embroidery, marquetry, and printing, which were developed into three-dimensional applications. New processes included self-supporting 3D embroidery structures, layered ink printing, and complex sculptural marquetry. Rolls-Royce also introduced new materials such as 24-carat gold leaf, polished concrete, and a patented interior fragrance concept, alongside further development of established features like the Starlight Headliner, including a fully hand-painted execution.

The most technically involved project of the year was the Phantom Centenary Private Collection, created to mark 100 years of the Phantom nameplate. Limited to 25 examples, the collection required more than 40,000 hours of development and production work over three years. Each car features a bespoke two-tone exterior finished in Arctic White and Black, with a newly developed Super Champagne Crystal clear coat infused with champagne-colored particles. A solid gold Spirit of Ecstasy crowns the exterior.

Inside, the Phantom Centenary models incorporate multiple bespoke elements, including an Anthology Gallery with engraved aluminium fins, rear seating upholstered in high-resolution printed fabric developed with a couture atelier, a Starlight Headliner stitched with more than 440,000 stitches, and the most intricate wood marquetry Rolls-Royce has produced to date, integrating 3D marquetry, layered ink techniques, and gold leaf.

Across the broader range, Rolls-Royce identified several recurring creative directions in 2025. Many commissions focused on family history, personal milestones, and legacy, while others drew inspiration from the natural world, astronomy, art, architecture, and digital culture. These themes appeared across models including Spectre, Cullinan, Ghost Extended, and Phantom Extended, with bespoke features ranging from constellation-mapped headliners and engraved dates to custom marquetry portraits and material references tied to clients’ professions or interests.

Cullinan remained the most requested Rolls-Royce model in 2025, followed by Spectre, reflecting continued demand for both luxury SUVs and the brand’s first fully electric motor car. Rolls-Royce also reported a significant increase in commissions for bespoke lifestyle accessories, including desktop objects and games, extending the Bespoke program beyond motor cars.

To support rising demand, Rolls-Royce is continuing a £300m+ expansion of its Goodwood manufacturing site. Construction began in early 2025 and will add capacity for Bespoke and Coachbuild projects, with new facilities expected to come online progressively through 2026 and beyond.

Taken together, Rolls-Royce’s 2025 results highlight a sustained shift toward more complex, highly specified commissions and a commissioning process that increasingly emphasizes direct collaboration. For the marque, the year represents continued investment in craft, infrastructure, and global client engagement as Bespoke demand continues to grow.
