Subaru Unveils Sunrise Yellow Special Editions of WRX and BRZ

Subaru is adding a splash of color to its performance lineup with two new limited-run specials: the 2026 WRX Series.Yellow and BRZ Series.Yellow. Both models will make their first public appearance on September 14 at Boxerfest 2025 in York, Pennsylvania. Production is capped at just 350 units each, ensuring exclusivity for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

The defining feature of these editions is the bold Sunrise Yellow paintwork, paired with matte black alloy wheels. Subaru has a history of using this color sparingly on special models like the 2015 XV Crosstrek Special Edition, the Japan-only BRZ STI Sport, and the WRX STI S207. Inside, both cars receive yellow contrast stitching across seats, panels, and key touchpoints for a cohesive look.

Based on the WRX tS trim, the Series.Yellow uses the 271-hp 2.4-liter turbocharged BOXER engine, paired exclusively with a 6-speed manual and Subaru’s trademark Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Handling upgrades include electronically controlled adjustable dampers tuned by Subaru Tecnica International (STI), Brembo brakes, and 19-inch matte black alloys wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires.

The cabin gets Recaro Performance Design front seats, yellow accents in the perforations, and modern tech including an 11.6-inch infotainment screen and 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.

Meanwhile, the BRZ variant emphasizes Subaru’s rear-drive purist appeal. Its 228-hp naturally aspirated 2.4-liter BOXER engine is matched with a 6-speed close-ratio manual gearbox. Suspension tuning comes courtesy of STI-calibrated Hitachi dampers, complemented by Brembo brakes and 18-inch matte black wheels shod in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires.
Inside, the BRZ’s black upholstery is offset by yellow stitching on the steering wheel, shifter boot, and seats, tying it into the model’s exterior character.

Subaru has not yet released pricing details, but both models are expected to launch in limited numbers shortly after their Boxerfest debut.
