Market Find: ex-Jeff Zwart 1996 Porsche 911 Turbo Pikes Peak

While not Tailored in a traditional sense- at least as far as our normal content is concerned- this 1996 911 Turbo certainly was built with a very specific purpose in mind. If you were a subscriber to any of the major US-based Auto mags in the 90s, this car needs no introduction.
Market Find: Porsche Paint to Sample Lava Grey 911 Turbo Cabriolet

We've said it before and we'll say it again- pre-facelift 997 Turbo models are a downright bargain when compared to many their 997.2 siblings, as well as most else in their price point. This one, finished in Paint to Sample Lava Grey which later became a 997.2 color) has a LOT going for it.

Market Find: TAG Turbo “AP87” in Mint Green as Broad Arrow Private Sale
One of the more fascinating and certainly the more storied in the Porsche 911 remastering game must certainly be Lanzante and their Porsche 911 TAG Turbos. After acquiring a bulk of former TAG Turbo F1 racing engines developed by Porsche for McLaren, the firm set about building a series of only eleven Porsche 911 Turbos fitted with them. In doing so, they created the ultimate tribute inspired by the one-off Porsche TAG Turbo test car built by Porsche's own R&D department.
Market Find: Brumos Delivered One-of-One Purple 993 Turbo S Goes Sealed Bid with RM Sotheby’s
As measured by its Viola Metallic paint, this Porsche 911 Turbo S delivered new to Brumos Porsche is one of just three U.S. market cars to get this color. Now pair it with its unique interior specification and it is believed to be one-of-one.
Market Find: 1997 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo in Slate Grey Selling with Broad Arrow at The Amelia
If Porsche Club of America’s Rennbow color archive is accurate, Slate Grey Metallic wasn’t a standard color on a 1997 911 Turbo (type 993). Rennbow has it down as offered to 1995, then returning in 1999. If true, that would make the car you see here technically a Paint to Sample specimen. Broad Arrow, the auction house planning to sell it this weekend during the concours weekend at The Amelia has it listed simply as “rare”.
Market Find: 1991 Porsche 911 Turbo in PTS Summer Yellow
We're particularly fond of Paint to Sample Porsches built in an era before Paint to Sample was a common occurrence. In this case, the color specification is Summer Yellow over black leather, made even better with 18-inch two-piece Speedline variants of the classic 964-era Cup 1 wheel design.
EU Market Find: 1992 Porsche 911 Turbo in Mint Green
We're hitting a theme this week of cars that have experienced color changes, and this one may be the most interesting yet. Get past the fact that it seems like you rarely if ever see a 964-generation 911 Turbo in Mint Green (much less one with less than 200 miles on the odometer), because that's just the beginning of the story. You see, this car left the factory painted Paint to Sample Gulf Orange (gulforange; 019; non-metallic UNI; Porsche) with black interior.
Market Find: 1978 RUF BTR in Oak Green Metallic
With 2024 being the anniversary of the 911 Turbo, the amount of forced induction elfers coming onto the market this year has been astounding. Now throw in Oak Green Metallic paint, the same color Dr. Ferry Porsche painted his personal 911 Turbo, and you already have a winner before we get to the fact that this is an early Turbo built by then fledgling RUF Automobile of Pfaffenhausen, Germany.
Market Find: Special Wishes Pearlescent White Porsche 911 / 964 Turbo Headed to Broad Arrow Auction at The Amelia
Hit up sites like Porsche Club North America's Rennbow paint resource and you'll see Pearl White Metallic was a color that began in the 1980s on cars like the 928 and 944, though Broad Arrow also shares in this car's Lot description an even more exotic Porsche history for this metallic shade of white. You see, it was also sprayed onto more spotlighted debuts such as the 956 sports racing prototype, the 959 "Gruppe B" concept that previewed the 959, the 911 Speedster Studie, and even the 924 Carrera prototype, all in this distinctive paint. Not surprisingly given the popular use by Porsche at auto shows, Pearl White Metallic was most definitely available in the brand's Paint to Sample program.
