Another Monterey Car Week auction superstar we've found is part of Broad Arrow's sale at the Monterey Jet Center. The car is the final Mercedes-Benz SLR Roadster ever produced, retained by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) for testing and development.

Proof that the used car experience can be equally 'fun' regardless of price point and location, this Tailored Driver's Lava Orange paint originally carried a price tag of nearly $12,000. We find it incredibly unfortunate then, that this now $82,998 Tailored proposition was photographed either during the highest humidity ever recorded in Lakeland, Florida, or was taken before cleaning the camera lens.

If there was ever a car that fit the Tailored Driver ethos, this is quite possibly it. George and I had met previously, but really bonded over driving then-new Samoa Orange Audi models- his a TT competition, mine the boss's S5 - and attending just about every VW Group event in the Mid-Atlantic.

Also known as Glut Orange, Solar Orange is a long-running Audi exclusive mainstay that captures the primary orange vibe.
Market Find: Solar Orange 2023 Audi R8 V10 performance Spyder
Sometimes it's hard to get an accurate read on colors based on photos. This very handsome Audi R8 V10 performance Spyder is a great example. While its orange paint looks on the darker side of a primary orange... more like a Gulf Orange, the listing shows it as Glut orange that is lighter and closer to traditional Signal Orange.
Market Find: Audi exclusive Papaya Orange RS 4

Every car has a story, and this Tailored RS 4 is no exception. Previously offered on Bring A Trailer before being withdrawn, this RS 4 was "structurally" damaged at Summit Point Motorsports Park- an unfortunate side effect of proper usage. In the roughly 13 years since repair, the car has been driven approximately 10,000 miles. Using Ed Bolian math, that's a generally a decent way of saying that while the car may not be as it was when it left Neckarsulm, it's certainly a hell of a lot better then when it left Summit Point, West Virginia.
Market Find: 2019 Volkswagen Golf R Spektrum in Copper Orange Metallic
Though VW doesn't have a tailor of their own, most regular readers of this website should by now know of the Golf Spektrum run of cars. Back in 2019, VW built a large collection of Golf R models painted in micro batches of unobtainium colors. These cars command a premium and are highly sought after when they come up online.
Market Find: 2020 Audi exclusive Q5 in Dragon Orange
While Audi's Dragon Orange Metallic is, or rather was, a standard color on the Q8, SQ8 and RS Q8 crossovers, it wasn't offered on the Q5. So, you might see another Audi in this color, but that doesn't make this Q5 any less unique.
Market Find: Rare Shade, Low Mile, Manual 2005 Acura NSX
Acura didn't have tailoring at the time this NSX was built, but we're going to give it a pass anyway for representing an excellent and rare specification that is also low mileage and impeccably maintained from all appearances.
Market Find: Is this 2007 Boxster an Early Nordic Gold?
We're not 100% confirmed on the color of this well-kept 987 Boxster S, but we believe it's Nordic Gold Metallic. The period is correct, and there aren't a lot of colors close to this in the Porsche Paint to Sample palette so we're fairly safe in saying it.
