Gordon Murray Special Vehicles with Tributes to Heritage at Monterey Car Week

Monterey, Calif. — Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) made its public debut at Monterey Car Week, introducing two limited-run supercars inspired by endurance racing and Gordon Murray’s landmark 1995 Le Mans victory. Positioned as a new division distinct from Gordon Murray Automotive, GMSV will focus on one-off commissions, heritage-inspired continuations, and bespoke creations for collectors seeking vehicles that transcend conventional production.

The first model, the GMSV S1 LM, is a tribute to Murray’s original Le Mans-winning design. With a lowered roofline, Le Mans-inspired lighting, and a new carbon-fiber body, the S1 LM places emphasis on timeless design rather than extreme styling. At its core is a newly developed 4.3-liter V12 producing over 700 PS, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox derived from the T.50s. Revving to 12,100 rpm and delivering power through a bespoke Inconel exhaust, the engine is encased in 18-karat gold-foiled shielding — a detail underscoring Murray’s “engineering art” philosophy.

Inside, the S1 LM adopts a minimalist cockpit with a central driving position, skeletal architecture, and lightweight materials. The design reflects Murray’s principle of “return to beauty,” prioritizing balance and proportion over visual excess. Just five customer cars will be built, with deliveries expected to begin in 2026.

Alongside it, GMSV unveiled the Le Mans GTR, a longtail supercar blending inspiration from classic endurance racers like the Porsche 917 and Alfa Romeo Tipo 33/3 with modern aerodynamics and chassis engineering. Powered by the high-revving GMA V12 and manual six-speed transmission, the GTR features a wider stance, advanced cooling, and track-oriented suspension, complemented by a full-width rear wing and twin-channel diffuser for maximum aerodynamic balance.

Despite its motorsport focus, the Le Mans GTR retains a refined interior, with bespoke switchgear, reimagined dials, and customer-specific finishes. Buyers can choose historic racing liveries or commission individualized interiors through GMSV’s Creative team. Only 24 examples will be built — one for every hour of the famed Le Mans race — with all units already allocated through Joe Macari Performance Cars. Production begins in 2026.

“These cars embody everything I love about timeless design and performance,” said Professor Gordon Murray, Group Executive Chairman. “The S1 LM celebrates the beauty of balance and proportion, while the Le Mans GTR reimagines the longtail racers I’ve admired throughout my career.” With both models, GMSV establishes itself as a new home for bespoke craftsmanship and vision-driven projects beyond traditional production supercars.
