Bentley and Steinway Unite in Hamburg for a Masterclass in Craftsmanship and Design

Two of the world’s most respected names in craftsmanship — Bentley Motors and Steinway & Sons — have joined forces for an exclusive event in Hamburg, Germany, celebrating precision, heritage, and modern luxury through a shared lens of design excellence.

A Monochrome Masterpiece
At the heart of the collaboration is a bespoke Bentley Flying Spur Speed, finished in Arctic White with a Piano Black interior — a visual pairing inspired by Steinway’s new Ultra Black and Ultra White limited-edition grand pianos. Revealed at Steinway’s Hamburg factory, the Flying Spur Speed represents Bentley’s latest evolution of its Ultra Performance Hybrid V8, blending power and refinement in equal measure.

Steinway’s limited-edition series — 18 Model B Concert Grands and 8 Model D Concert Grands — are crafted entirely in Hamburg, continuing the piano maker’s 172-year legacy of meticulous production. Each piano embodies Steinway’s philosophy of blending tradition with innovation, appealing to musicians and collectors alike.

Craftsmanship Across Disciplines
Beyond shared aesthetics, the collaboration underscores a deeper exchange of expertise. Bentley’s master craftsmen and Steinway’s artisans recently visited one another’s facilities, exploring techniques in woodworking, veneering, and material innovation. Both brands highlighted how generational craftsmanship can coexist with cutting-edge technology to produce objects of enduring beauty — whether in a concert hall or on the open road.

Wayne Bruce, Bentley’s Chief Communications and D&I Officer, described the project as “a meeting of worlds, where craftsmanship connects music and motion.” He noted that the Flying Spur Speed and Steinway’s grand pianos together form “a dialogue between two distinguished names, creating objects of rarity and enduring beauty.”

Guido Zimmermann, President of Steinway & Sons Europe, added, “The Ultra Black and Ultra White editions embody Steinway’s ability to honor our heritage while exploring new expressions of design. These pianos are not only instruments of the highest musical quality but also works of art.”

Touring Europe in Black and White
Following the reveal, the trio — Bentley’s Flying Spur Speed alongside Steinway’s Ultra Black and Ultra White pianos — will embark on a European tour featuring live performances for clients of both brands.

Together, Bentley and Steinway present a masterclass in restraint and refinement, proving that in the world of true luxury, craftsmanship remains the ultimate common language.
