Maturo’s Latest Lancia Delta Integrale Verde York Remaster

Dutch specialists Maturo Competition Cars have completed another of their Delta projects, this time finished in the shade of Verde York. As with previous builds, this is not a light cosmetic restoration but a comprehensive mechanical and structural reworking of the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale platform, aimed at long-term durability and sharper real-world performance.

At the heart of the build is Maturo’s full chassis reinforcement package. The shell receives Domex steel plating and more than 250 chain welds throughout key structural areas. The goal is twofold: improving torsional rigidity for more precise handling and extending the lifespan of a platform now several decades removed from its Group A origins. The result is a Delta that feels tighter and more cohesive without sacrificing the character that defines the original car.

Power comes from an upgraded version of the Integrale’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine, now fitted with a roller-bearing Garrett T3 turbocharger. The modernized unit is designed to improve spool characteristics and reliability while maintaining the punchy, mid-range-focused delivery that made the Integrale such an effective rally weapon. Supporting hardware is updated throughout to ensure the added performance remains usable and consistent.

The driveline receives equal attention. The gearbox has been revised and paired with a shorter final drive, sharpening acceleration and making better use of the engine’s boosted torque curve. Combined with the strengthened chassis, the changes are intended to make the car feel more immediate and alive on tight roads, echoing the responsiveness of period competition cars while benefiting from modern engineering tolerances.

Braking performance is addressed with a system from AP Racing, bringing contemporary stopping power to match the upgraded drivetrain. This is a key part of the Maturo philosophy: every increase in speed or grip must be matched by equal gains in control. The improved brakes, paired with the reinforced structure, create a platform that can be driven hard with confidence rather than caution.

Visually, the car balances factory heritage with subtle motorsport cues. The fresh Verde York paint underscores its 1990s rally pedigree, while a rally-style Maturo lamp pod, finished in body color, adds a purposeful edge without drifting into caricature. It is a nod to the Delta’s night-stage history, integrated in a way that feels cohesive rather than decorative.

As with all Maturo Classic builds, this Integrale is less about preservation for its own sake and more about evolving an icon for modern use. By addressing known structural weaknesses, refining the powertrain and upgrading critical systems, Maturo transforms the Delta from a fragile classic into something that can be driven, enjoyed and relied upon. For enthusiasts who love the Integrale’s shape and legacy but want sharper dynamics and greater longevity, this Verde York example makes a strong case for the remaster route.
