Bring a Trailer Expands to UK
Bring a Trailer is expanding its footprint in the UK, formalizing what has already been a steady flow of British-market listings on the platform.
The San Francisco–based Bring a Trailer confirmed it has launched dedicated UK operations, supported by local partners, institutional relationships, and a more tailored experience for buyers and sellers in the region. The move follows several years of organic growth from UK users participating on the site.
Founded in 2007, BaT has scaled into one of the largest global marketplaces for enthusiast vehicles. The company reports more than $1.7 billion in sales in 2025, marking its fourth consecutive year above the $1 billion threshold. Volume remains broad, ranging from high-end hypercars to entry-level enthusiast models, with roughly half of all listings selling for the equivalent of £20,000 or less.
The platform’s model remains unchanged: curated listings, public comment threads, and full transparency on results. In 2025, BaT hosted 49,486 auctions with an 81% sell-through rate, supported by a registered user base of more than 1.65 million.
To support UK growth, BaT is introducing a localized partner network. Lead partner Sports Purpose will provide seller support including inspections, photography, and listing assistance. Chase Classics is also part of the initial rollout, with additional partners expected to follow.
Fee structure mirrors the existing BaT model with regional adjustments. UK sellers pay a flat listing fee starting at £79, with an optional “Plus” package at £239 that includes professional photography. Buyer fees are set at 5% of the final sale price, capped at £5,000 plus VAT.
The platform has also added GBP and EUR currency conversion to improve clarity for European users, while maintaining its standard seven-day auction format and rolling bid extensions in the final minutes.
For launch, BaT is waiving seller fees for a limited time and offering discounted photography services, signaling an aggressive push to establish a stronger presence in one of the world’s most active collector car markets.
