It’s hard to know how many Nogaro Blue Audi TT (Mk1) examples were built. While not an impossible color in Europe, we only know of two others Stateside – one 3.2 Coupe we’d spotted years ago and another 2003 1.8T quattro Roadster we picked up for our own project series earlier this summer. Either way, it’s exceedingly rare and since Nogaro Blue is pretty obviously different from any other blue offered during the Mk1 Audi TT ‘s production run, we’re fairly certain this car is Nogaro even if we don’t have the VIN to check for certain.

The car popped up over the weekend on Facebook marketplace and it’s listed for a very reasonable price of $2,000. The paint looks decent in the low-resolution marketplace images, but we do see some other cautionary details in the images – no rear glass in the fabric top, mismatched OEM wheels (none of them correct to the 2003-2005 production year), an aftermarket radio and some basic wear that’s not abnormal for the car’s age.

Cautionary details aside, this car looks like an excellent buy. In proper shape, it’s a $10,000 car. In immaculate shape it may be double that. The mileage isn’t especially low, but it’s also not especially high. If the original paint is well preserved and it just needs freshening, this car would be an excellent project or perhaps even a decent candidate for a flip.

Audi exclusive cars in this era are few and far between. While the services were being offered and quattro GmbH even included the Nogaro Blue paint in its German market Audi exclusive catalogue, custom factory paint on these first-generation TTs is practically nonexistent in the United States, which all makes it quite special.
