Porsche is expanding the customization options for the Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Coupé Electric for the new model year. The additions include Paint to Sample finishes, electrically operated doors, wireless home charging and a new front-seat massage system. For buyers specifying a Cayenne Electric, the paint program is the largest change: it adds 92 shades to the 13 standard colors, bringing the available total to 105.
Paint to Sample is offered through Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Porsche is also extending the optional Interior Style Package, a black and green design developed by Style Porsche and Exclusive Manufaktur. A new Extended Package Interior Style adds leather trim and decorative stitching in Delgada Green. Buyers can further specify leather and Race-Tex trim for the front and rear seat consoles, as well as Race-Tex interior sill panels with colored stitching.
The new electric-door option uses servo motors to open and close all four doors after a brief pull of a handle. Occupants can also operate them with cabin buttons or the Porsche Communication Management display, while the Porsche Digital Key provides remote control. The driver can close their door by fastening the seat belt or pressing the brake pedal. Porsche says the system works on inclines; sensors stop movement when they detect an obstruction, and the doors can still be operated manually.
Porsche Wireless Charging allows a parked Cayenne Electric to charge over a ground pad without plugging in a cable. The system requires vehicle preparation, a vehicle pad and a pad installed in the parking space. Porsche quotes charging power of up to 11 kW and efficiency of approximately 90 percent. The weatherproof ground pad can be installed outdoors, and the system stops charging if it detects a nearby person or animal, or a metallic object heating on the pad. All components are available to order in Germany and other European markets, with a staged rollout elsewhere.
A new massage option gives each front seat 16 air cushions and six sound actuators. It offers five massage programs and adjustable vibration, while its 4D audio function can operate with or without the massage. Porsche has also added three Wellness Mood Modes that combine massage, vibration and sound. Availability and pricing for the new options outside the stated European wireless-charging markets were not specified in the release.
