Last May, we featured a 1996 Mini Cooper S finished in Porsche Riviera Blue. This 1999 MINI from the same source follows a similar idea with a very different result: the original Mini’s shape rendered in Porsche Chalk, known as Kreide in German.
The seller describes the car as a Rover MINI Cooper MPI “40 Years” edition that has undergone a complete restoration, with approximately €30,000 invested. According to the listing, the work included a full engine rebuild, repaint in Chalk, replacement chrome and seals, cavity protection, new brakes at both ends, new shock absorbers and Yokohama tires. The black leather interior has also been refinished with carbon-look details.
Power comes from the MINI’s 1,275-cc multipoint-injected four-cylinder, listed at 63 PS (approximately 62 hp), through a manual transmission. The car was first registered in February 1999 and shows 99,000 km.
The listing calls this MINI a “1 of 1,” a description best understood as referring to its Chalk restoration and individual specification. It does not establish that the car left the factory in Porsche paint. That distinction matters, but it does little to diminish the appeal of the finished combination: a late-production classic MINI with its original character and an unusually restrained contemporary color.
