It’s about that time that the 996-generation Porsches begin to become collectible. In fact, it’s probably overdue given the focus Porsche Classic placed on building that special Club Coupe for the Porsche Club of America and that was later sold to Jerry Seinfeld.
There’s also a tailored sweet spot for the Porsche 996. Paint to Sample and interior deviations did happen in this era. While not as common as today, that they did means great spec cars can and do happen, and that it’s a 996 means they’re typically relatively affordable.
