Sprint Blue has long occupied a special place within Audi enthusiast circles. Originally introduced during the B7-era S4 and RS4 years, the shade effectively became Audi’s successor to Nogaro Blue, shifting slightly toward the cyan side of the spectrum while still delivering the sort of bold, unmistakable presence enthusiasts immediately associate with Audi Sport’s naturally aspirated era. Which makes seeing it here on a B8.5 RS5 Cabriolet feel especially fitting.

Interestingly, this particular RS5 Cabriolet is also familiar territory for us at Tailored Driver. We originally featured the car back in 2024 while it was listed on Cars and Bids after the owner reached out shortly before the auction went live. At the time, we noted just how uncommon Audi exclusive examples of the B8.5 RS5 Cabriolet appeared to be, especially considering production figures often cited only around 769 U.S.-market RS5 Cabriolets produced between MY2013 and MY2015.
What made this particular car stand out then, and still does now, is that Sprint Blue had already largely disappeared from Audi’s standard palette by the time the facelifted B8.5 RS5 arrived. Sepang Blue had effectively taken over as Audi Sport’s hero blue by that point, making this Audi exclusive order feel less like a contemporary trend choice and more like someone intentionally carrying forward one of Audi’s most beloved enthusiast-era colors.
Finished through Audi exclusive, this RS5 Cabriolet pairs the vivid Sprint Blue exterior with black interior upholstery and several desirable factory options including the Black Optic Package, sport exhaust, Driver Assist Package, and Bang & Olufsen sound system. The Black Optic treatment works particularly well here, toning down much of the bright exterior trim and allowing the color itself to remain the focal point.
The listing also notes the presence of the optional sport rear differential along with Audi Drive Select, further reinforcing this example as a particularly well-optioned car. And while Sprint Blue was never exactly a subtle color to begin with, there’s something about seeing it on a convertible RS model that makes the entire package feel even more period-correct for the era.
Today, naturally aspirated Audi RS cars continue to gain appreciation as the industry moves further toward downsized turbocharged powertrains and electrification. Finding one in Audi exclusive paint only adds to the appeal.
