One of the original Audi TT launch colors, Aviator Grey was early to the pastel grey game the would later go more mainstream with the Porsche 911 Sport Classic’s Fashion Grey, Porsche Chalk or Audi’s near-ubiquitous use of Nardo Grey.
As pastel greys go, Aviator Grey has a slightly blue tint. In 2012 when the run of R8 GT Spyders were happening, it would have been a somewhat obscure deep cut from TT. Other than a tasteful Audi exclusive choice, Aviator Grey hasn’t been used on a production Audi model since.
This R8 GT Spyder has respectably low miles and appears to be in great condition. Also worth noting, it does have one key modification. Every R8 GT of this era was fitted with Audi’s single clutch R tronic automatic transmission. As a result, many have been retrofitted to include the more sought-after gated manual shifter and this car appears to have had that procedure completed.
