Porsche Paint to Sample often pulls from the brand’s own considerable color archive, but every so often something from elsewhere in the Volkswagen Group finds its way onto the palette. Such is the case with this 2025 Cayenne GTS Coupe finished in Sepang Blue Metallic.
Sepang Blue originally comes from Audi and takes its name from the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Audi enthusiasts will recognize the deep, highly saturated blue from a number of the brand’s performance models, where it carried paint code LY5Q. Porsche later added the color to its Paint to Sample offering under code Y5Q.
Visually, Sepang Blue also sits very close to Porsche’s own Sapphire Blue Metallic, especially in brighter light. Both have that vivid, high-saturation blue character, though Sepang tends to read a touch deeper and richer depending on the lighting. That similarity makes it feel especially natural on a Porsche, even if its roots are very much Audi.
That Audi connection makes it particularly interesting on a Cayenne GTS Coupe. The bright metallic blue provides plenty of contrast against the GTS’s darker exterior details and 22-inch 911 Turbo Design wheels, while the Black leather interior keeps the rest of the specification relatively restrained. Over the years, Porsche has pulled colors from elsewhere within the Volkswagen Group, and Audi shades have been part of that cross-pollination. Sepang Blue is another example, having started with Audi before later appearing as a Porsche PTS offering.
That shared color history is part of what makes this Cayenne interesting. Sepang Blue still carries a strong Audi association, but on a modern GTS Coupe it looks completely at home.
