Spoiler alert: Sprint Blue was a standard color offered on the 2008 Audi S4. Even still, we still believe rare specifications still qualify and that includes the S4 you see here. While it’s neither special paint nor even a special edition, the B7-era Audi S4 will definitely grab the attention of those who know wha they’re looking for.

Before we get into the special parts of the spec, let’s focus on what this S4 already has going for it. Sprint Blue, already mentioned, was that era’s take on Nogaro Blue. While it never reached Nogaro’s legend status, it was highly appreciated by fans and remains a favorite today.
Same goes for the S4, Audi’s B7 chassis fitted with the brand’s 4.2-liter V8. The standard Recaro interior available in shade-on-shade black/black Alcantara is another B7 cue this car also boasts.

Next up is the rare “DTM” body kit option. In Europe, Audi created the uber cool if small displacement Audi A4 DTM that got a unique body kit comprised of bumpers and Ronal titanium wheels that resembled the OZ Racing wheels on the brand’s DTM race cars. In the USA, the kit was offered as a rare stand alone option on the S4 rather than the A4 like Europe, with the IYKYK detail being that the DTM kit also comes with an A4 specific grille that you almost don’t notice given the black optics package. The spec is a deep cut, one that will earn an appreciable nod from Audi über nerds.
And did we mention just 13,000 miles?
That’s all very good news for someone seeking a nice B7 specimen and not married to the idea of a more in-your-face RS 4 of the same era. However, with good news comes less than good news depending on your bent when it comes to transmissions or modifications.

This car’s got the automatic slush box, which is a shame given it is of an era when the manual was still available. It’s also got a comprehensive list of modifications. And while tasteful, we find mods to be a mixed bag because the most ardent collectors tend to devalue a car that has upgrades.
If this car were a bone stock manual, we suspect it would be cleaning up on Bring a Trailer or Cars & Bids. Instead, it’s on Facebook Marketplace and has been for sale for awhile. The owner is asking a premium, not obnoxious but also not market, meaning the car will likely continue to sit until a buyer comes along who has been looking for this very thing and is ready to pay the premium and snap it up.
That’s why we’re sharing it. This car deserves to find another home where it is as appreciated and pampered as it appears to have been for its first 13,000 miles.
