MINI is celebrating the 25th anniversary of modern MINI production at Plant Oxford with the introduction of the new MINI Cooper Oxford Edition, a special model that pays tribute to the British factory where every modern MINI has been built since 2001. Designed exclusively for the latest three-door MINI Cooper, the edition blends contemporary styling with visual references to the brand’s heritage in Oxford, where the original Mini also entered production in 1959.
The centerpiece of the Oxford Edition is its distinctive white contrast roof featuring a modern interpretation of the Union Jack. Rather than simply applying the flag as a graphic, MINI has integrated the design into the car’s overall appearance with the red and white center stripe extending the length of the vehicle. Buyers can choose from Chili Red, Indigo Sunset Blue or Blazing Blue exterior finishes, all paired with white mirror caps and exclusive 18-inch Slide Spoke two-tone wheels featuring edition-specific center caps and valve covers.

The British-inspired theme continues inside the cabin with subtle commemorative details rather than an extensive redesign. A textured Union Jack appears at the six o’clock position on the steering wheel, while the driver’s floor mat carries a circular interpretation of the flag. The passenger-side floor mat instead features a checkered flag motif that references MINI’s long-standing motorsport heritage. Exclusive door sill plates mark the occasion by celebrating 25 years of modern MINI production.
The Oxford Edition will be available in both MINI Cooper C and MINI Cooper S variants, giving customers the choice between the standard and higher-performance versions of the three-door hatchback. Rather than introducing new mechanical upgrades, MINI has focused on exclusive styling and personalization, continuing a tradition established by previous special editions such as the MINI 60 Years Edition, MINI Seven Edition, MINI 1965 Victory Edition and MINI Paul Smith Edition.

To complement the vehicle, MINI has also introduced an Oxford Capsule lifestyle collection. Inspired by the edition’s design language, the range includes a traveler bag, apparel, stickers, a cap and MINI’s signature umbrella walking stick, all finished in dark blue with Union Jack-inspired accents that echo the Oxford Edition’s exterior design.
While the name may be familiar to North American enthusiasts, MINI is careful to distinguish this model from the long-running Oxford Edition previously offered in the United States. Despite sharing a name, the new MINI Cooper Oxford Edition is an entirely separate global special edition created specifically to commemorate the 25th anniversary of modern MINI production at its historic Oxford home.
