Rolls-Royce will debut one of its most intricate Bespoke commissions to date at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with the unveiling of Phantom Regatta, a one-of-one Phantom Extended inspired by the sailing culture and coastal waters of southern England. Drawing from the Solent, Chichester Harbour and the historic regattas that have defined the region for generations, the commission celebrates the landscapes surrounding Goodwood while also acknowledging the personal connection of marque co-founder Sir Henry Royce, whose former home at West Wittering overlooks the same coastline.
The exterior sets the nautical tone with a hand-applied two-tone finish pairing deep Regatta Blue over English White, echoing the waterline of a classic racing yacht. Fully polished 22-inch disc wheels reinforce the maritime theme by referencing the gleaming hardware found aboard competitive sailing vessels. While understated in its presentation, every exterior element was chosen to evoke the elegance and purpose of high-performance yachts rather than relying on overt marine styling cues.

Inside, Rolls-Royce’s Bespoke division transformed Phantom into a study in contemporary nautical craftsmanship. Navy Blue leather in the front transitions to Grace White in the rear, suggesting the contrast between open water and billowing sails, while Turchese embroidered RR monograms provide a subtle splash of coastal color. One of the cabin’s standout features is a pair of extraordinary picnic tables requiring approximately 120 hours to complete. Constructed from carefully matched Royal Walnut separated by slender Black Bolivar inlays, the handcrafted surfaces replicate the appearance of a yacht’s teak decking with remarkable authenticity.
Additional bespoke details reinforce the commission’s maritime inspiration throughout the cabin. A hand-painted Gallery artwork titled Watercolour stretches across the dashboard, with Rolls-Royce’s in-house artist developing a new painting technique to capture the movement and translucency of open water. Above, a Bespoke Starlight Headliner composed of 1,307 individually positioned fiber-optic lights recreates the swirling tidal currents surrounding the Isle of Wight rather than a traditional night sky. Even the adjustable air vents conceal a secret: engraved coordinates marking both Goodwood House and the Home of Rolls-Royce, discreetly linking the commission to the place where it was conceived and crafted.

Rather than creating a themed special edition, Phantom Regatta demonstrates how Rolls-Royce continues to use its Bespoke program as a form of storytelling, translating a client’s inspiration into handcrafted materials, finishes and engineering details. Set to make its public debut during the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the commission also serves as a fitting showcase for the capabilities of the artisans at the marque’s Goodwood headquarters, where regional heritage becomes the foundation for one of the world’s most personalized luxury automobiles.
