Twenty years after the Veyron established the template for the modern hypercar, Bugatti is demonstrating what the next phase of its life can look like. The La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years is a one-off factory restoration that combines preservation with selective modernization, effectively giving an existing Veyron access to materials, finishes and technical developments created long after it left Molsheim.
La Maison Pur Sang is Bugatti’s factory certification and restoration program, established in 2020 to maintain the provenance and condition of the marque’s collector cars. Its remit can range from authentication and historically accurate restoration to something considerably more personal. This Veyron represents the latter.

Created with its owner, the Veyron 20 Years introduces a color combination never previously offered on the model. The body pairs Rouge Rembrandt, developed for the Tourbillon, with Petrol Blue associated with the Chiron. Inside, Magnolia upholstery is joined by bespoke Mocassin stitching on the steering wheel and gear selector.
The more consequential changes are underneath the visual details.
Bugatti has developed a new version of the Veyron’s familiar Machiavelli wheel, increasing its dimensions to 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. More importantly, the change allows the Veyron to use tires in Chiron dimensions. Given the increasingly complicated issue of supplying suitable tires for aging high-performance cars, it is a particularly practical piece of factory-supported modernization.

The larger wheels subtly alter the Veyron’s stance without abandoning the original design language. New three-dimensional mesh inserts have also been developed for the front, side and rear air intakes, giving the car another contemporary detail while leaving the underlying bodywork and proportions intact.
Inside, Bugatti used the project to explore materials and techniques that were not available during the Veyron’s original production run. Most notable is the center console, which receives a Côte de Genève finish inspired by the decorative striping traditionally used on mechanical watch movements. Applying the technique across a large, three-dimensional automotive component required Bugatti to develop the process specifically for the project.

A dedicated 20 Years of Veyron emblem between the seats identifies the car’s anniversary significance.
“The Veyron is one of the most important cars in Bugatti history, and any adjustment to that original, legendary formula must begin with respect,” said Bugatti Director of Design Frank Heyl. According to Heyl, La Maison Pur Sang is intended to preserve the essential character of each car while allowing owners to introduce another level of personal expression.
That distinction makes this project particularly interesting. Factory restoration programs have traditionally been concerned primarily with returning significant cars to their original specifications. La Maison Pur Sang increasingly treats the existing car as a starting point, provided any changes remain within Bugatti’s own technical and historical framework.

For the Veyron, that opens a new chapter.
The earliest examples are now more than two decades old, placing them firmly within the collector-car world despite their still-modern performance and engineering. Rather than requiring owners to choose between preservation and modification, Bugatti is positioning La Maison Pur Sang as a way to do both under factory supervision.
The Veyron 20 Years is the first particularly visible demonstration of how far that idea can go. It isn’t a new Veyron and it isn’t an attempt to disguise the original car as something newer. Instead, it applies two decades of subsequent Bugatti development to an existing example while retaining the design and engineering identity that made the Veyron significant in the first place.

Bugatti also launched a Veyron configurator around the car’s unveiling at Pebble Beach, making selected La Maison Pur Sang features available to other owners.
For a car once defined almost entirely by breaking new ground, the Veyron is beginning its second life in much the same way.
